Heyington Place Residence is a classically elegant heritage home meticulously restored to its 1930s glory by Jack Merlo in collaboration with Studio 11:11.

Pavilion adorned in creeping foliage

Classically elegant heritage

Outdoor pool with wet edge

Extending on its storied historic gestures are gardens that lean into the manicured charm and composed arrangements of a quintessentially English garden albeit one that has been coaxed into modern relevance through unexpected planting combinations and architectural elements.

Where an indoor pool once lay, an outdoor pool with wet edge now sits, connected to the house by a pavilion adorned in creeping foliage. An evergreen hedge presents a verdant background while providing privacy from neighbours, and Japanese specimens occupy giant pots on terraces.

Through a considered balance between soft and hardscaping and a dedication to forging a navigational fluidity rendered from the dissolving of thresholds between inside and out, much of Heyington Place Residence’s lineage has been reestablished with the garden and the house seemingly entwined as ivy creeps up exterior walls, tendrils cascade beyond fence tops and a black steel pergola slowly becomes immersed in botanicals.
